Abstract
Anesthesia-related periodic involuntary movements in a patient with regional anesthesia or etomidate anesthesia can be alarming. This case report describes anesthesia-related periodic involuntary movement in a patient undergoing cesarean section with epidural anesthesia. The anesthesia-related periodic involuntary movement occurred postoperatively in the recovery room. The discussion includes a brief review of spinal cord anatomy and physiology, as well as a review of the literature describing similar events.Entities:
