Abstract
The present survey covers historical events in Estonia during the era of the USSR regime and the era after independence as regards incidence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The diagnostical methods used as the reporting system are presented. Reasons for the increased incidence of traditional venereal diseases such as gonorrhoea and syphilis are discussed. The importance of migration of prostitutes from Russia is also considered.Entities:
