Abstract
Proteins and glycolipids are glycosylated, sulfated and phosphorylated in the lumen of the Golgi apparatus. The nucleotide substrates of these reactions must first be translocated from the cytosol into the Golgi lumen by specific transporters (antiporters). These are hydrophobic, transmembrane spanning proteins that appear to regulate post-translational modifications in the Golgi lumen.Entities:
