Abstract
Genetic studies have demonstrated that pairing interactions between homologous chromosomes and long-range associations between nonhomologous sites can influence gene expression. Recent work has revealed that such influences are widespread in eukaryotes and that chromosome architecture is likely to be of fundamental importance for nuclear structure and function.Mesh:
