A new fast mathematical technique for resolution enhancement applied to simulated scans of the thyroid phantom.

N Chau, B Legras, J Legras, J Martin.

Abstract

The authors present a new mathematical technique for resolution enhancement. It has been applied to scans of the international thyroid phantom simulated by computer, in standard measurement conditions. The effect of random fluctuations and the choice of the optimal image are investigated. The results obtained are satisfactory and superior to those of smoothings.
