Abstract
We report on five cases of associated systemic sclerosis and sarcoidosis (associated connective tissue diseases). The special peculiarities of this association are emphasized with a review of the literature (14 other cases reported). The clinical aspects, the prognosis, the role of silica, the likelihood of a chance association and the need (in our opinion) to reconsider the name 'sarcoidosis' are discussed.Entities:
