Genes involved in T-cell receptor-mediated apoptosis of thymocytes and T-cell hybridomas.

A Winoto1.

Abstract

Stimulation of the T-cell receptor complex in resting T cells leads to activation. However, antigenic stimulation of immature T lymphocytes and activated mature T cells results in apoptosis. Recent work suggests that distinct signaling pathways in T cells mediate cell death and cell activation. In this article, genes that are involved in apoptosis of immature T cells and T-cell hybridomas are discussed.
