The difficult perineal wound.

A Del Pino1, H Abcarian.

Abstract

The postsurgical perineal wound may be difficult to manage. It is associated with a high incidence of complications, including infections, delayed healing, persistent sinuses, and fistulas. Careful preparation, consideration of established risk factors, and careful attention to surgical technique are essential for maintaining a good outcome.
