The anatomical preparations of the human testis and epididymis in the Glasgow Hunterian Anatomical Collection.

A V Hirsh1.

Abstract

The structure of the testis and its duct system is reviewed with reference to the preparations in the Hunterian Anatomical Collection, Glasgow University, Scotland. The specimens were prepared over 200 years ago by two surgeons, William and John Hunter. These specimens are of importance as it would be extremely difficult today, to assemble such a large number of normal human specimens showing detailed epididymal and testicular anatomy.
