Hematometra-A Complication of Endometrial Ablation/Resection

Hematometra is an uncommon complication of endometrial ablation/resection. Twenty-four patients with hematometra have been treated. Patients having endometrial ablation can be warned of this problem so that they can be dealt with rapidly either by ultrasound guided puncture and drainage, hysteroscopy with fluid medium or, as in one case, vaginal hysterectomy.
