Abstract
The incidence of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in Hungary was 0.3 per 1000 live births in 1992. We investigated bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) of eight infants with SIDS, using bacteriological, light and electron microscopic methods to collect data about the role of respiratory inflammations in SIDS children and to determine the usefulness of the BAL technique. Findings are discussed.Entities:
