A simplified method of open laparoscopic entry and abdominal wall adhesiolysis.

M A Pelosi1, M A Pelosi1.

Abstract

We have developed a method of open laparoscopic abdominal entry and abdominal wall adhesiolysis. Key to this approach is the employment of digital pressure to effect intraumbilical peritoneal entry and local adhesiolysis before introducing any laparoscopic instruments. The technique is safe, rapid, and effective, and is easily reproduced. It is well suited to cases in which extensive abdominal adhesions are anticipated.
