Abstract
An uneventful chromopertubation was performed with methylene blue dye during diagnostic laparoscopy for infertility. Approximately 24 hours later the woman experienced acute abdominal distention and pain. Emergency exploratory laparotomy revealed peritoneal ascites consistent with a sterile inflammatory exudate. No visceral injury was found. The patient was treated empirically with corticosteroids with resolution of her symptoms.Entities:
