Abstract
Puzzling new information indicates an inadequacy in our understanding of the retinoblastoma protein (RB). RB and the transcription factor E2F appear to be collaborators. RB-E2F interaction is necessary but not sufficient for growth suppression. Unbecoming of a tumor suppressor, RB has an active role in antagonizing the death response. How RB integrates its multiple functions into a tumor suppression program is still an open issue.Entities:
