Traumatic ureteral injuries with delayed recognition.

D M McGinty, R Mendez.

Abstract

Review of ureteral injuries treated in the past ten years at the Los Angeles County-University of Souther California Medical Center revealed 9 cases of traumatic injury which escaped immediate recognition. These patients were found to have a poor prognosis with a higher incidence of nephrectomy when compared with those patients with immediate diagnosis and treatment.
