Adolescent obstetrics and gynecology: children having children--can it be controlled?

L Plouffe1, E W White.

Abstract

The incidence of pregnancies continues to increase for women under the age of 16 years. Pregnancy in a teenager who is not fully developed is associated with poor outcomes. Sociocultural factors account for many problems of teenage pregnancy, and addressing these issues forms the basis for control of this problem.
