Cecal fecolith: an unusual presentation of cecal septum.

C K Wong1, H R Noblett, A Aslam.

Abstract

A 5-year-old girl presented with a right iliac fossa mass. Radiological investigations suggested the diagnosis of calcified mass. During laparotomy a large fecolith was found trapped below an incomplete septum in the cecum. The pathogenesis of enteroliths and the embryology of this unusual bowel anomaly are discussed.
