Abstract
Primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major cause of mortality world-wide, with a poorly understood pathogenesis. We review known aetiological factors and the mechanisms whereby they are associated with the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. The increasing knowledge of the dysregulation of cellular growth control that occurs during HCC development is discussed in detail.Entities:
