Neurological features of perinatal asphyxia: a clinical and pathological study of a neonate with multicystic encephalopathy.

Abstract

This male infant suffered severe perinatal asphyxia resulting in multicystic encephalopathy. The various clinical observations and laboratory studies performed on this child are discussed with reference to their use in determining the severity of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and predicting long-term outcomes.
