Abstract
In the present study, we examined the ability of the orexigenic peptide neuropeptide Y (NPY) to stimulate feeding when administered into the lateral ventricle of baboons. No increase of either meal size or total daily food intake was observed over the dose range tested (1-30 micrograms). These results suggest that, in the baboon, NPY may not be an orexigen as it is in other species.Entities:
