Abstract
There has been a dramatic improvement in the treatment of both allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants, especially in children and young adults. However, attempts to apply more intensive conditioning treatments to the more refractory pediatric malignancies have also increased the risks of deleterious consequences. This review examines the risks, and reports important variations in the toxic effects of using different conditioning techniques.Entities:
