Abstract
A rare case of xanthogranulomatous inflammation of the sigmoid colon presenting as intestinal obstruction is reported. This is the first report of this lesion involving the large bowel which demonstrated the characteristic macroscopic and microscopic features. Though rare, xanthogranulomatous inflammation should be considered in patients presenting with large bowel obstruction.Entities:
