Abstract
Photosystem 2 (PS2) is the part of the photosynthetic apparatus that uses light energy to split water releasing oxygen, protons and electrons. Here, we present a model of the subunit organization of PS2 and the accompanying secondary antenna systems (phycobilisomes in cyanobacteria and the light-harvesting complexes in higher plants) and discuss possible physiological consequences of the proposed dimeric structure of PS2.Entities:
