Abstract
The hepatitis B virus-encoded protein, HBx, may contribute to carcinogenesis by perturbing cell growth and differentiation. There is some evidence indicating that HBx represses the nuclear import of the tumour repressor p53 and p53-dependent trans-activation and that HBx activates members of the basic region-leucine zipper (bZIP) family.Entities:
