Abstract

A pressure-regulated operon was cloned and sequenced from a barophilic bacterium strain DB6705. Gene expression by this promote was regulated at the level of transcription by elevated pressure in the barophilic strain. The promoter sequence was similar to the promoter of ompH from Photobacterium sp. strain SS9.
