Abstract
The authors present the case of a newborn girl who had cystic fibrosis associated with neuronal intestinal dysplasia type B (NID-B). The association is rare but must be considered in the differential diagnosis of gastrointestinal problems in patients with cystic fibrosis. The present case elucidates the intestinal problems that can arise with this combination of diseases. Although the unusual association found in this patient could have been a random occurrence, the possibility of an NID-B determining gene localized on chromosome 7q should be considered.Entities:
