Abstract
A combination of structural and genetic studies of poliovirus suggests that the final stages of viral assembly lock the virus in a metastable structure primed to undergo the receptor-catalyzed conformational changes required for cell entry. Future studies promise to provide detailed insights into the conformational dynamics of the virion during its life cycle.Entities:
