Abstract
Two infants with urea cycle disorders had life-threatening hyperammonemia within the first 5 days of life. Both patients were small for dates, poorly oxygenated, and hemodynamically unstable. We employed a combination of extracorporeal oxygenation and hemodialysis to provide high-flow filtration in a controlled system to rapidly detoxify both patients.Entities:
