Abstract
Nitric oxide has been demonstrated to play a role in the modulation of food intake. The Zucker fatty rat is an autosomal recessive genetic model of obesity. We measured nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in the hypothalamus and fundus of the stomach in Zucker (fa/fa) rats and their lean littermate controls (fa/?). NOS activity was decreased in both the hypothalamus and the fundus of the Zucker (fa/fa) rats compared to the littermate controls.Entities:
