Abstract
Ureterosigmoidostomy (USS) for bladder cancer is an attractive surgical technique for the improved quality of life provided to the patient, notably from a preserved body image. Complications, however, can jeopardize this result. We report the case of a woman who developed an hyperammonemic encephalopathy after USS "Mainz pouch II". We discuss the indication of a liver needle biopsy before USS when hepatic functions are abnormal and we stress the importance of regular "rectal exonerations" during the day.Entities:
