A comparison of general practice in Britain and Ireland.

J S McCormick, S P Allwright.

Abstract

The work patterns of general practitioners in the British NHS and in the General Medical Services Scheme in the Republic of Ireland are compared. Doctors in the Republic have higher consultation and domiciliary visiting rates. These differences are not explainable in terms of the different age/sex structures of the populations under care.
