Abstract
Fibrosis is usually regarded as an uninteresting end-point of injury. However, it influences function in heart, lung, and liver. Kidney fibrosis correlates well with overall renal function, but is only rarely recognized as affecting function itself. There is evidence that organ contraction from fibrotic scarring may affect kidney function, and could contribute to progressive renal failure.Entities:
