Abstract
A handwashing program for elementary school students was developed and implemented by the school nurse in a suburban elementary school. The program consisted of surveying teachers, inspecting handwashing facilities, and providing classroom presentations and follow-up activities. Absenteeism records indicated a significant decrease in absenteeism for illness during the two months following the presentations.Entities:
