Abstract
Nineteen cases of canine sarcoptic acariasis (Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis) were diagnosed histologically by identifying sarcoptic mites present in the stratum corneum. The inflammatory responses to these mites could be staged as early, fully developed, or late lesions. No histomorphological features were identified that could serve as reliable markers of infestation in the absence of a sectioned mite.Entities:
