Abstract
We have experienced a case of left atrial (LA) myxoma with rapid progression of congestive heart failure and ensuing multiple organ insufficiency. After the tumor excision, the hemodynamic derangement was totally corrected and the patient dramatically recovered from kidney, liver, and lung insufficiency. Specifically, pulmonary artery pressure (PAP), pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP), and central venous pressure (CVP) significantly decreased in the intensive care unit. Administration of prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) was effective in treating residual pulmonary hypertension.Entities:
