Simplified split-bone technique for removal of impacted mandibular third molars.

C J Yeh1.

Abstract

A modification of the lingual split-bone technique is presented, based on an osteomucoperiosteal flap. The technique described is simple, and it requires less time and causes less tissue trauma than other accepted techniques. The bone exposure and bone loss are minimal. The complication rate is extremely low.
