Abstract
The case is reported of a 46-year-old male patient with polycythemia vera (PV) treated with phlebotomy who developed an occlusive thrombosis of the superior mesenteric artery 2 years after the diagnosis. He was successfully managed with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. The patient did not develop any other thrombotic phenomena. To our knowledge, there are no previous reports on the use of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty in the management of arterial thrombotic complications in PV patients.Entities:
