J E Altwein, R Hohenfellner.

Abstract

As a staging operation for prostate carcinomas in clinical stages B (6/27) and C (21/27), 27 pelvic lymphadenectomies were performed. In stage B, a radical prostatectomy was performed; patients in stage C also received radiation. Preoperatively, lymphographic and histologic findings that were in agreement were available for only 74%. The immediate mortality was 0%, the postoperative morbidity 29%.
