Mycoplasma growth inhibition by arginine.

L R Washburn, N L Somerson.

Abstract

Arginine enhances the growth of nonfermenting mycoplasmas. However, arginine can restrict the growth of glucose-fermenting mycoplasmas and should not be added to media used to cultivate these species.
