Abstract
A case of villous adenoma of the urinary bladder is described. The patient, a 57-year-old Chinese male, presented with a long-term history of urethral stricture disease secondary to gonorrhea urethritis. On cystoscopic examination, a mucin-secreting papillary tumor, measuring 3 x 2 cm was noted at the bladder neck. Microscopically, there were papillary fronds of mucin-secreting columnar cells with varying degrees of piling up. The relationships between chronic irritation of the urinary bladder, cystitis glandularis, intestinal metaplasia, villous adenoma and adenocarcinoma were discussed.Entities:
