Abstract
As the incidence of toxoplasma encephalitis (TE) in AIDS patients increases, sulfadiazine/pyrimethamine combination therapy is broadly administered. Two cases of acute and chronic renal sulfadiazine crystallization with acute renal failure and nephrolithiasis are reported. Controlled alkalinization of the urine and high fluid intake are recommended for prophylaxis of crystalluria.Entities:
