Care improves while costs reduce. The clinical nurse specialist in total parenteral nutrition.

H Hamilton.

Abstract

Inserting feeding lines into patients requiring total parental nutrition (TPN) is expensive and time consuming. Expanding the role of the clinical nurse specialist in TPN enabled this procedure to be performed percutaneously on the ward, cutting costs, freeing doctors' time and improving patient care.
