Abstract
Historical aspects, mechanisms, and treatment of hepatotoxicity associated with pharmacologic agents in dogs and cats are discussed. All agents that cause clinically relevant drug-induced hepatotoxicity have been reviewed within the last 5 years; therefore, only selected drugs that more recently have been observed to cause hepatic injury in companion animals are described in detail. These include diethylcarbamazine/oxibendazole, phenobarbital, and trimethoprim/sulfadiazine.Entities:
