Congenital portosystemic shunts in the dog and cat.

R A Martin1.

Abstract

Congenital portosystemic shunts were not reported as a clinical entity until the 1970s. Historical and clinical findings and surgical data were detailed in the 1980s. The methods of surgical management learned in the last decade offer challenges of redefinition to surgical management in the 1990s.
