Abstract
The objective is to establish a simple relationship between two frequently used validation techniques which have been developed in the literature along the same lines: Principal Component Analysis and Cronbach's alpha. We have shown that under certain conditions, it is possible to estimate the reliability by using the results of a Principal Component Analysis only. Moreover, we report the relation between Cronbach's alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient, which are both used to estimate the reliability of continuous measures.Mesh:
