Abstract
A 56 year old woman underwent cholecystectomy. Postoperative paralytic ileus was treated with an intravenous infusion of prostaglandin F2 alpha. During infusion she complained of oppressive chest pain. This was accompanied by ST segment depression, and was relieved by sublingual glyceryl trinitrate. Coronary arteriography did not show significant stenosis, but subsequent intravenous infusion of prostaglandin F2 alpha provoked multiple segmental spasm of both the right and left coronary arteries.Entities:
