Abstract
Although soft tissue sarcomas are relatively uncommon, they often occur in young patients and if properly treated are often curable. Unfortunately, inappropriate approaches to biopsy before adequate staging may compromise a successful outcome. The roles of diagnostic imaging (particularly magnetic resonance imaging) in adequate preoperative evaluation and staging and the fundamental principles of surgical management are discussed.Entities:
