Abstract
Budd-Chiari syndrome is a well described entity which can easily be confused with congestive hepatomegaly. The syndrome usually is caused by thrombosis of the hepatic veins, however it also can be caused by congenital fibrous webs that occlude hepatic vessels in the inferior vena cava. It leads to an enlarged liver with ascites, peripheral edema, and portal hypertension.Entities:
