Abstract
A case is reported in which the patient underwent ligation of the common carotid artery as treatment for a ruptured intracranial aneurysm. Nine years later a second subarachnoid hemorrhage occurred form a new or previously undemonstrated intracranial aneurysm. Recannulation of the ligated carotid artery was demonstrated by arteriography. Similar cases are cited from the literature.Entities:
