Abstract
A novel sesquiterpene, 7 alpha-hydroxy-6, 11-cyclofarnes-3(15)-en-2-one [1], has been isolated from the aerial parts of Premna oligotricha (Verbenaceae) using an antimicrobial bioassay-guided isolation procedure. The sesquiterpene was identified on the basis of spectroscopic data and showed weak activity against Gram-positive bacteria Bacillus pumilus, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus faecalis.Entities:
